Web Art Garden is an international network of people who are interested in art, in culture and in environmental issues and who want to share experiences from their own ecology through artistic activity.
Web Art Garden offers a way to share creative, movement-based activity in the environment. This may include performance, dance, theatre, ritual, exhibition, singing, presentation, installation, poetry, writing, lecture, meditation and prayer, discussion, video, photography, film...
Web Art Garden is created by the regional work of movement-based artists concerned with cultural, environmental and educational issues. It provides an independent forum for ecological dialogue and exchange at a national and international level between individuals, as well as organizations and institutions.
If you have ideas, want to join the network or want to contribute in any way, please let us know. When they’re needed, we'll be adding a discussion forum and networking and sharing facilities to the site. Web Art Garden has recently begun its second cycle of activity. This begins with the World Environment Day project on June 5th 2008 (WED 2008) - which celebrates UNEP's World Environment Day.
Inter-cultural collaboration, based in equality and respect, requires a high degree of critical self-reflection to become aware of our own cultural lenses.
WED 2008, has been created with this in mind, to encourage creative, movement-based expression and understanding of our own culture and ecology as one of the factors which will facilitate healthy and confident collaboration between cultures.
